May 7 marks the commencement ceremony for LCC’s Class of 2026. The ceremony will be held at the Breslin Center at Michigan State University and will be livestreamed starting at 6 p.m. Graduating students are preparing by picking up their caps, gowns and cords while looking ahead to what comes next. From transferring to four-year institutions to starting their careers, students shared what they are looking forward to after the ceremony.

Haneen Ramadan, a psychology major, is looking forward to continuing her education. “I'm looking forward to going to MSU, being in a university,” she said.

Hugh Gormley, who is studying computer information systems, shared that he is looking forward to “having a summer and then going to school at U of M Flint.”

London Gomez, a medical assistant major, says that her next step is “finding a job somewhere.” She will be exploring the job market in the coming weeks.

Breyden Doyle is graduating with an associate’s degree in general business. “I'm looking forward to working full-time at the place I'm interning right now and developing in my future,” he said.

Kelly Reid is graduating with a transfer degree. “I’m looking forward to continue my path of education,” she said. “It’s been something that I had put off for a long time, and now that my kids are grown and actually graduating themselves, I think I’m gonna go on to get my bachelor’s.”

Zainab Kang is a pre-nursing major who is currently working as a medical assistant. Despite her successes at school and in her career thus far, Kang is not done yet. “I plan to come back in full to pursue the nursing degree,” she said.
